In May, my mom (Shirley) and I traveled to Scotland for a mother/daughter adventure. We were both excited for the trip which had been delayed a year due to Covid. Both of Shirley’s grandfathers (George Holmes and Clarence Hill) were from Scotland. For her, this was a trip to the motherland.

I visited Scotland for the first time in October 2018. At the time I thought Scotland would be a one and done. Cross it off the list of places I’d like to go and move on to the next. I did not anticipate how much I would fall in love with this country and its moody weather.

This is my final post about Scotland. It is an amazing country! The Scots are friendly and personable people, the food is outstanding and the sights are awe inspiring. Scotland now holds a piece of my heart!

Scotland | Part I

In October, I spent close to three weeks in Scotland. The first week’s travel partners were my husband Tom and our good friends and travel buddies: Rainer and Betsy who live in Gross-Rheide, Germany.
